Cavendish University Cup Countdown Launch

Downtown Moncton Centre-Ville Inc invites you to the official launch of the Countdown to the Cavendish Cup on Monday January 21st at 11am in the Moncton City Hall lobby.

All are invited and we encourage downtown employees to participate in this activity organized to create awareness amongst the population in regards to this large-scale event to be held in Moncton from March 20th to 23rd. The Cavendish University Cup is coming…only 60 days before the tournament!

Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. vous invite au lancement officiel du décompte de la Coupe Université Cavendish ce lundi 21 janvier à 11h au lobby de l’Hôtel de ville de Moncton.

Nous vous aviserons dans lesprochains numéros de Aux alentours quand elles seront disponibles. Pour l’instant, nous encourageons les marchands participants à continuer d’accepterla carte Avantage 2007.

Les Maires locauz s'unissent encreant une compition amicalepour le bien-etre de notre communatel.

Les maires de Moncton, Dieppe et Riverview s’unissent pour démontrer leuresprit communautaire au profit de la campagne de collecte de fonds deCentraide. Les trois municipalités démontrent l’exemple en acceptant le défi d’une compétition amicale

.L’équipe municipale qui amasse le plus de fonds (montant d’argent divisé par lenombre d’employés) sera déclarée la municipalité gagnante. Le maire de la villegagnante décidera alors quelle agence appuyée par Centraide sera visitée parles trois maires.La municipalité gagnante sera annoncée le mardi 22 janvier 2008 à l’hôtelde ville de Moncton.

Le YWCA de Moncton et le Centre de ressources sur les troublesd’alimentation organise une première conférence régionale sur lestroubles d’alimentation les 7 et 8 février 2008 à l’hôtel Crowne Plaza. La date limite d’inscription est le 18 janvier. INFO:855-4349.

Des fonds pour le Ballet-Théâtre atlantique du Canada

Le Ballet-Théâtre atlantique du Canada a reçu 125mille dollars du Programme de stabilisation desarts du Nouveau-Brunswick. Le Ballet-Théâtre atlantique du Canada utiliseraune partie de ces fonds pour améliorer sesstratégies de marketing afin d’augmenter sonrevenu et accroître son public au niveau local,régional, national et international.

De janvier àmars 2008, la compagnie sera en tournée au Canada atlantique, au Québec, en Colombie-Britannique, en Saskatchewan, en Alberta, enFrance et en Belgique. Une nouvelle productionoriginale de « King Lear » sera présentée enpremière mondiale en octobre 2008.

2008 DMCI Advantage cardavailable to downtownemployees at the end of month!

Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. has ordered the 2008 Advantage Card. They will be ready on January 23rd at the latest. Keep an eye on the Out and About to know exactly when they will be available.

For now, participating merchants are encouraged to continue accepting the 2007 Downtown Advantage card.

Local Mayors agree to a friendly competition to benefit the community.

The mayors of the City of Moncton, Town of Riverview and Ville de Dieppe are banding together to showt heir true community spirit for the 2007 United Way campaign. All three municipalities have agreed to participate in a little friendly competition, while leading by example. The municipality that raises the most funds (total dollars raised dividedby number of staff) will be declared the winner.

The Mayor of the winning municipality will decide which United Way agency all three Mayors will visit together to volunteer their time.The announcement of the winning municipality will take place at Moncton City Hall on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 10:00 am. All three mayors will be in attendance.

Conference on eatingdisorders

The YWCA of Moncton and the Eating Disorder Resource Centre is organizing its first Regional Conference on Eating Disorders, to be held February 7th & 8th, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Deadline for registration is January 18, 2008. INFO: 855-4349

Arts Stabilization Funds for the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada

The Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada hasreceived 125 thousand dollars from the New-Brunswick Arts Stabilization Fund Program. Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada will use aportion of the stabilization funding to move forward with marketing strategies that will bring increased revenue and expand audiences at local, regional, national andi nternational levels. From January through March 2008, the Company will tour toAtlantic Canada, Quebec, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta, France and Belgium. A new original production "King Lear" will have its world premiere in October, 2008.
