A special event was held on Thursday May 7th at Central United Church in Moncton for the Community Peace Centre. The Centre is the vision of six not-for-profit organizations in Greater Moncton. Partners include Early Childhood Stimulation Inc., Family Service Moncton Inc, Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton Area Inc. (MAGMA), United Way of Greater Moncton, Southeastern New Brunswick Inc. and Central United Church.

Une journée portes-ouvertes pour le Centre communautaire de la paix a eu lieu à l’Église Central United à Moncton le jeudi 7 mai dernier. Le Centre communautaire est le résultat de la vision de six organismes sans but lucratif du Grand Moncton. Les voici : Simulation à l’enfance, Services à la famille Moncton, l’Association multiculturelle du Grand Moncton Inc. (AMGM), Centraide de la région du Grand Moncton et du sud-est du N.-B., le Centre du bénévolat du Sud-Est du N.-B.et l’Église Central United.

On June 21st, the whole world will celebrate for the 6th year: La Fête de la Musique. Organizers in Moncton are looking for musicians, amateurs or professionnals, of all languages, cultural background and musical styles to perform in activities to be held in our downtown area.

Nous recrutons des musiciens, amateurs ou professionnels de toutes les communautés linguistiques et culturelles de tous les styles musicaux pour participer aux festivités ici au centre-ville. In anticipation of the upcoming Beer Festival, St. James Gate will be holding a beer and food tasting on Wednesday May 20th. A variety of beer from around the globe paired with some unique recipes will be served. Get you tickets while they last…cheers!

Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. will hold its 32nd Annual General Meeting on Tuesday June 9th at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Main St. in Moncton. Cost: $40 (lunch will be served). Guest speaker; Mr. Larry Nelson, President of the local organizing Committee for the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships. Public Notice: Election of officers for 2009/10 Board. Property owners, merchants, downtown employees and genera public are welcome.

The Capitol Theatre Art Gallery is looking for visual artists who would like to hold an art exhibit in 2010. Artists have until May 31st to submit their application. Something new this year: the six selected artists will receive an artist fee of $ 500.00
